INTENSIVE WHEEL - 1 Week (6 Days - 18 h)
Intensive wheel class of 1 Week, 5 Days (Monday to Friday) + 1 Day glazing session.
The course is dedicated to those who would like to have an in-depth contact with clay and the wheel or do not have the chance during the year to attend a 5-week course.
The Intensive Session is suited for both beginners and experienced and has a maximum of 3/4 participants.
Beginners (or a bit of experience) - Learn the wheel:Day 1 – 3 h – Introduction to Clay, Wedging and Centering. I will give you an introduction of how the ceramic process works. We will prepare the clay for the wheel (wedging). After a demonstration on how to center you will try it out with my help and guidance to make cylinders.
Day 2 – 3 h – Cylinders. You will learn the basics technique to pull up cylinders to make cups and mugs.
Day 3 – 3 h – Bowls. You will learn the basic techniques to create bowls of different shapes and sizes. You will have the chance to trim the cylinders created the previous lesson to refine the shape and decorate the surface.
Day 4 – 3 h – Keep going with bowls and Cylinders. In this last session you will keep practicing on bowls and cylinders exploring different shapes and sizes. You will have the chance to trim the bowls created in the previous session.
Day 5 – 3 h – Finishing and decorating. In the last day you will have the chance to finish and decorate all your works and prepare them for the bisque firing.
Day 6 – 3 h – Glazing Session: after an introduction to glaze chemistry, we will glaze your works with different techniques like dipping, pouring and brushing.
Intermediate - Tableware Set:
The workshop is an opportunity for a further development in throwing and finishing techniques.
Day 1 – 3 h – Plates. We will throw different shapes of plates from shallow to small saucer, desserts and serving plates.
Day 2 – 3 h – Training on plates and trimming the plates created the day before.
Day 3 – 3 h – Lidded forms and Jars for storing food.
Day 4 – 3 h – Bowls of different sizes like ramen and pasta bowls
Day 5 – 3 h – Decorating and Finishing to prepare your works for the bisque firing.
Day 6 – 3 h – Glazing Session: we will glaze your works with different techniques like dipping, pouring and brushing.
The day of the glazing session will be decided together with the participants and it normally take place 2 weeks after the end of the class.
In case you cannot attend Day 6 (Glazing session) i will glaze your works for you with colours of your choice and then be shipped to you (shipment not included).

For this specific course the following cancellation policy applies.
The intensive wheel class will only start once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached or in case of cancellation by Blayse Ceramic you will be fully refunded.
In case of cancellation by the participant with more than 15 days of notice before the beginning of the workshop, a full refund will be issued.
In case of cancellation by the participant with less then 15 Days of of notice before the beginning of the workshop, the enrollment fee will be converted into a voucher that can be spent on future courses.
